The NBA Players Union has issued a statement regarding the anti-Semist scandal surrounding Brooklyn point guard Kyrie Irving.
Irving has been the union`s vice president since 2020.
Anti-Semitism has no place in our society. The NBA Players Union is focused on creating an environment where everyone is recognized. We want to help players understand that certain words can cause harmful ideologies to spread. We will continue our investigation and fight against hate wherever it occurs, " the statement said.
Irving recently caused controversy when he posted on his social media a link to a movie titled From Jews to Blacks: Wake Up Black America, which is filled with anti-Semitic cliches. The actions of the basketball player drew criticism, and he eventually deleted the message.
