Former NBA star Amar`e Stoudemire has been cleared of domestic violence charges. According to the Miami-Dade County District Attorney`s Office, the case was dropped due to the victim`s refusal to cooperate with the investigation.
Stoudemire was arrested last December. According to media reports, the basketball player punched one of his daughters in the jaw and slapped her several times for disrespecting her grandmother and lying.
Following the incident, Stoudemire was charged with domestic violence. The player denied the allegations and said they were based on a report that did not correspond to the facts.
Stoudemire, 40, has two daughters. The eldest is 17 years old, the youngest is 14 years old.
