Zion Williamson has decided to part ways with the agency that represented him. The Pelicans forward and Creative Arts Agency have ended their partnership, with the star basketball player`s contract situation in question due to his health problems.
Williamson, 24, is a two-time All-Star who played in just six games this season because of a hamstring issue and has missed more than half the games since New Orleans selected him with the No. 1 overall pick in 2019.
Williamson signed a 5-year, $197 million contract in 2022, effective in the 23-24 season. However, the last three years of the contract are not guaranteed, as Zion only appeared in 29 games predicted by
watch live football games in the 22/23 season, which led to the activation of a special clause in the agreement.
The Pelicans have the right to waive Williamson after this season without any financial consequences.
Williamson also has the opportunity to again receive guaranteed parts of his salary or all of it if he reaches certain agreed conditions regarding his fitness and number of matches played. At the moment, the basketball player is out for an indefinite period.
Williamson`s contract for the 25/26 season will be 100 percent guaranteed unless terminated by July 15, 2025.
