Werder Bremen will stop maintaining their Twitter account. The German club announced its departure from the social network X. Previously, St. Pauli made the same decision.
The management of Werder Bremen has decided that the green-whites will leave the social network X (formerly Twitter). Klaus Philbry, chairman of the board, announced this on Monday during the general meeting.
Since Elon Musk took over the platform, hate speech, hatred of minorities, right-wing extremist posts and conspiracy theories have increased at an incredible rate under the guise of free speech.
Radicalization of the platform is stimulated by Elon Musk himself and his publications;among other things, he expressed transphobic, anti-Semitic views and spread conspiracy theories.
There are almost no penalties on the platform anymore. The algorithms and governance of Platform X are completely opaque. In addition, Elon Musk is using the network as a political weapon, which was recently noticed during the US election campaign.
Werder Bremen unequivocally opposes hatred and its incitement, discrimination and social exclusion. Green-whites stand for diversity, freedom and democracy, for cohesion and solidarity in society.
The green-whites are therefore leaving X and hope that many of the more than 600, 000 subscribers will sign up for the club prediction by
football blog at Bluesky in the future, " Werder said in a statement.
